INTEGRATIVE SCIENCES
Understand the person
as a whole.
Bring an integrative
approach into practice.
Understanding human health and behavior means exploring how the mind, brain, body, stress, emotions, relationships, nutrition, and metabolism interact.
Integrative Sciences brings these dimensions together to offer healthcare and other helping professionals broader perspectives and practical tools they can apply in their work.

No single perspective captures the whole person.
Emotions affect the body. Stress influences attention, behavior and physiology. Nutrition and metabolism can shape energy and mental functioning. Posture, movement, relationships and environment also play a part in how we adapt and change.
Integrative Sciences looks at how these dimensions interact, without reducing a person's experience to a single explanation.
Drawing on psychology, neuroscience, behavioral science, stress physiology, embodied processes, nutrition and related fields, it helps professionals develop a more complete understanding of health and change—and translate that understanding into practice.
See the bigger picture. Connect what is often studied separately. Make more informed decisions in practice.
When one perspective is not enough
Complex cases often become clearer when we consider psychological, physiological, behavioral and relational factors together. Integrative thinking does not replace specialist expertise. It helps us recognize connections that might otherwise be missed.
Stress, emotions & self-regulation
When thoughts, emotions, physiological arousal and behavior keep reinforcing one another.
Trauma & somatic memories
When past experiences appear to shape ongoing sensations, posture, movement, tension and automatic bodily responses.
Psychosomatic processes & persistent symptoms
When it helps to consider interactions among psychological experience, stress, behavior, the nervous system and physiology.
Patterns that resist change
When insight alone is not enough to shift automatic reactions, habits or long-established patterns.
Nutrition, metabolism & mental health
When nutrition, sleep, energy regulation, metabolism and inflammatory processes are part of the broader picture.
Relational & embodied patterns
When ways of relating, posture, movement and past experiences seem to form patterns that repeat over time.
It is not about adding more theories.
It is about learning to connect them.
OBSERVE
Look beyond isolated symptoms to consider the whole person and their wider context.
CONNECT
Explore how psychological, neurobiological, bodily, relational and metabolic processes may influence one another.
