AN OVERARCHING VISION

When we talk about an "polluted body" we need keep our minds open.
What we eat, environmental pollutants, even soaps and beauty creams can have toxic effects or act like endocrine disruptors (i.e. interacting negatively with our hormones).

Their effect is not immediate, but they accumulate in our body over time and slow down or modify processes at every level: digestive, immune system, metabolism, nervous system and hormones.

By making targeted choices regarding what we eat, the products we use for personal and home hygiene, it is possible to give the organs of our body “breathing space" and make them function correctly again for our overall well-being and also to make medical and psychological therapies more effective.

By using the right natural supplements you can help the body eliminate toxins accumulated over time and reactivate the body’s physiological functioning.

ORGANS THAT CAN BE SUPPORTED

Detoxing is often only targeted at the liver which, in fact, is the organ mainly responsible for purifying the body.
However, detoxing the liver alone is not enough.

To clean out and dispose of toxic substances it is necessary to act not only on the LIVER, but also on the INTESTINE and on the ADRENAL GLANDS.

THE LIVER

The liver is the main detoxing organ and can become congested due to the countless toxic substances we are exposed to daily. Liver dysfunction can manifest through many different types of symptoms including digestive problems, extreme drug sensitivity, fatigue, skin problems, mental disorders, autoimmune diseases, and more.

THE GUT

The gut is another extremely important organ for purifying the body. A damaged intestine will promote systemic inflammatory processes, absorb fewer of the nutrients necessary to detox and excrete fewer toxins from the body.

ADRENAL GLANDS

The adrenal glands are located above the kidneys and are responsible for the production of so-called "stress" hormones. A high quantity of these hormones promotes inflammation and increases the effort by the liver and intestines to eliminate toxic substances.

SYMPTOMS OF AN POLLUTED BODY

  • Chronic fatigue

  •  Insomnia

  • Poor memory

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Emotional disorders

  • Premature aging

  • Dermatitis, itching or eczema

  • Arthritis

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Lack of libido

  • Chronic pain

  • Headache

  • Hair loss

  • Weight gain

  • Constipation or diarrhoea

  • Allergies

  • Intolerances

  • Asthma

  • And many others

All these and many other symptoms can be traced back to a polluted and out-of-physiology body and to a liver and intestine that are no longer able to carry out normal biological functions.

ITHE ADVANTAGES OF THE DETOX PROTOCOL

In the Mind and Body Detox Course we will cover all the most accredited strategies by the scientific community to:

  • Feel better, freeing your body from toxins that slow down its functions and alter its physiology.
  • Recover physical and mental energies that are no longer wasted in the attempt to compensate for this intoxication.
  • Act on the underlying factors that interfere with the resolution of widespread problems such as chronic fatigue, pain, poor memory, hormonal imbalances, headaches, anxiety, inability to lose weight, reflux, dysbiosis, chronic pain, hair loss, emotional disorders , dermatitis, eczema, insomnia and more.

All the suggestions in the Mind and Body Detox program are the result of extensive scientific research, accredited by doctors and scientists in the field of functional and integrative medicine.

ENDOCRINE DISRUPTOR
and SUBSTANCES THAT POLLUTE THE BODY

We are exposed to many types of toxins that enter and accumulate in our bodies every day, polluting it and causing disease.

We inhale toxins through the air we breathe, absorb them through our skin when we use personal care products, and ingest them when we eat pesticide-laden foods. New chemicals are constantly being introduced without adequately investigating the long-term effects on the body.

Many pesticides are used in large quantities on fruits and vegetables for human consumption and on animal fodder. These substances remain in the foods we eat every day in high concentrations, and are accumulated in our body.

We also come into contact with many products for domestic use and personal care, such as shampoos, creams, cosmetics, deodorants, perfumes, detergents, sanitizers, dish detergents, floor detergents and air fresheners on a daily basis.
The chemical agents contained in these products come into contact with the skin and are absorbed by the dermis, entering the bloodstream, polluting the body and altering its hormonal balance.
These substances can often act as endocrine disruptors.

Endocrine disruptors or disrupting compounds are a vast category of molecules or substances that alter the normal hormonal functioning of the endocrine system, causing adverse effects on the health of the body.
Endocrine disruptors can interfere with the synthesis, secretion, transport, association, action, or elimination of the body's natural hormones, which are responsible for development, behaviour, fertility, and maintenance of cell homeostasis.

Sara has a Degree in Nutrition Sciences and is a Nutrition and Health expert that focuses on the ways that foodnutrition and physical activity affect our healthemotional responsesmood and cognitive abilities. She is co-founder of the Association for Integrative Sciences and of the Real Way of Life research and training centres where she works as a consultant, researcher and trainer.

She developed the Emotional-Metabolic Switch model to intervene on inflammatory conditions of the gutbrain and, at the same time, on energy metabolism and the efficiency of mind-body interaction.

Her work slots into the Change Switches theory starting from initial cell responses (metabolic energy, epigenetic marking, inflammatory cascade) and is applied right throughout, across various levels of complexity that influence initial adaptation responses (from hunger to a sense of void), to brain networks at the heart of emotions and self-image (both physical and relating to identity), to self-regulation and primary interpersonal relation models (tolerance towards waiting, nurture, sharing etc.).

Sara researches and evaluates the reciprocal influence between nutritioncell responses, epigenetics, responses to pain, management of emotions and behaviour.

Sara coordinates nutrition and wellbeing projects both at individual clinical level and in their overall social implication aspects, presenting her findings each year to an international audience.
